It's Sunday so Grab your cup of coffee, tea or a soda and let's talk!!
Good Morning & Happy Sunday! Oh Happy Days! It's Sunday and a day of rest! It's been quite busy at the shoppe this week. The weather has been nice this week. Not so humid but hot enough for the air on at the shoppe! My girls tell me I'm having "hot flashes"! We haven't swam in our pool because of the cool nights, the water is below 70*! Hopefully we'll have some hot days this week to bring it back up. My grandkids are coming up next weekend so I'm hoping for warmer water! Mike just told me it's suppose to be in the 80's today and this week so that's more like it! Fall is just around the corner.
I received a couple of packages this week from my sister Sherry! She's been dyeing wools and Oh My! I am totally impressed! She loves doing it and I just love the colors that she's chosen! Once she's done more I will be adding them to my website! She's re-done all of our pattern covers and they all look so good! I have a new one out now plus I'll be stitching a couple more this week!
Well, we're doing it! We'll be leaving this afternoon for some camping and fishing! Mike will drive the motor home and I'll pull the boat behind me and we're on vacation for a few days. We'll be going into the shoppe a couple of days but will cut our days shorter and will be back out to nature to relax. It's been years since we've done this so we are both looking forward to it. Here we go again with putting the boat in the water and trying to get it back on the trailer with me half drowning and Mike sitting in the vehicle yelling to me what I'm suppose to do!
We had Kathy that came to visit us from Indiana this week and thoroughly enjoyed her. Also had a couple other ladies from the Detroit area come in and visit. Anne, Dorene and Anne's mom came up from Ohio and brought us more pillowcases and visited for a few hours. All of these ladies receive my newsletter each week and I'm so blessed that they came to visit with me and my shoppe. I truly love meeting you that read my newsletter so come and visit any time!
Don't Forget!! Labor Day Week-End is next week! Shoppe will be opened Friday, Saturday, Sunday & Monday! We have the annual Craft Sale downtown and our streets will be closed off to the vendors so park behind the shoppe! This is a huge weekend in our town so Come & Visit with us!! We'll be having some nice sales!!
I want to Thank Everyone that ordered this week from my website and for you that took time to come to the shoppe. We do appreciate everyones business and supporting the Cotton Patch. We wouldn't be here if it wasn't for You!!

****************Make A Difference Make A Pillowcase************************
We have joined American Patchwork & Quilting Million Pillowcase Challenge!
Please join with us at the Cotton Patch in making pillowcases from not until December 2010! My goal is to have 5000 made by the end of the year and I need your help! The pillowcases will all go toward Ann Arbors Crippled Children's Hospital & The Domestic Violence Home that we have near us. Most of you know of my family spending many hours at Ann Arbor with my granddaughter Harlie Donielle but I do have to say she is one of the lucky ones with her disability. There are so many children fighting for their lives at this hospital. Every time you walk down the halls you can see the children and just know in your heart that they are fighting some kind of battle. So why not give back to the hospital that has taken such good care of my granddaughter and many others like her or worse! The Domestic Violence Home here in our community houses many women and children. Being in a situation in my previous life I feel that this home needs some support as well. So Please help us reach our goal! You can send your pillowcases to us at the address listed. If you have questions please give us a phone call or email and we'll help you in any way that we can. If you are in need of some pillowcase kits we do have kits available for 30% Off for this project. You do not have to purchase kits in order to make pillowcases, just use your stash and send them once completed. We will accept any and all pillowcases!! If you would like some free patterns for pillowcases please look for the category for this cause, I've added the website that has free patterns! It would be Wonderful to reach my Goal and I know that all of you that can help will help us!! I will be adding everyone's name in this category that sends us pillowcases and at the end of 2010 I will forward all of your names to APQ,(just names no addresses will be given to them) to let them know who helped this cause. Have someone take a picture of you with your pillowcases and I will add them to this category as well.
Thank You!

Wheel Chair Quilts: WE HAVE 50 QUILTS SO FAR! WE NEED 165 MORE!!
There is something that I have been thinking about since the last time I went to Harlie's school, Marion Crouse. When we were in a meeting they had told us that the state had taken away the Project Class that the kids had always had. One was for sewing. They had always wanted each child to have a lap quilt for their little legs that are in wheelchairs and for children when they sit on their chairs. Well, what do you think? Do you think that we could do this? There are 215 children in this school. The children's ages are 6yrs old to 18 yrs. old. Some of the boys are men size.
Questions: Email me [cottonpatch@hughes.net]
Sizes needed: 42 x 60 to twin size.
Fabrics: No juvenile prints. Anything else.
Quilted or tied. Remember, these quilts will be washed a lot.
I would love to have them done by December 1st 2010.

**Thank you to everyone that has come in or placed orders this week. I appreciate each and every one of you for your continued support. Times are tough right now for some of you and am so glad to see that our Quilting World is still going strong. We must keep our minds and hands occupied with doing something that we love. Also remember, when placing your order the shipping charges are not accurate off the website. If we can put everything in a Priority envelope we will to save you money. If not it will go into a Priority box. FYI: Priority Envelopes can take up to 6-7 yards of cotton fabrics! The Priority envelopes have changed a bit, it seems they are tearing quite easily. So we have to be careful not to stuff them too much or your fabrics will fall out in shipping!
Lay-A-Way Program:
Place your order and in the comments write in Lay-A-Way.
We will pull your order, box it up and take 1/3 of the total cost with shipping and charge your order out. We will do this for 3 months. After the last payment is made then we will ship your order out to you!

My Family Life
I have to take this time to THANK each and everyone of you that holds my family in their prayers every day. I know that prayer is so powerful and has helped us get through each and every day. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. What would we do without you! THANK YOU!
My parents:
Are doing well. My sister Toni brought my mom and dad up for a visit this week! I was so Surprised & Happy to see them that I just wanted to cry. It's been over a year since they've been able to come up! It was a day of pure pleasure being with them all to myself! They both looked so good and each had a smile on their face. I couldn't have asked for a better day. Dad and I took our coffee out on the front porch and rocked and talked for a time while Toni & my mom put up more of my mom's treasures for Grandma's Attic. We went out to lunch and sat for quite a while just talking. It truly was a fantastic day for me. I miss them so much. I know that they have both been worried sick about me but they got to see me and I think they feel better. I haven't told you but they finally figured out what's been wrong with me and I have to have total hip replacements. Do you believe it? I have severe arthritis in both hips. I go to a surgeon in September and we'll see what he has to say. Until then I'll just go about my business and not worry. Who knows maybe they can just shoot something in my hips and I'll be just fine! I've talked with my mom and dad since they were here and they both made it through with flying colors! They were a bit tired when they got home but feel fine. They are so awesome! And Toni is our "Angel" of the family. It was her last week off from work before school starts and she's spent most of the time with them this week. Bless her heart!
**Grandma's Attic which is my mom's corner of the shoppe that has Antiques & Collectibles Check some of her things in the "Grandma's Attic" category!
****I just input several NEW items for you to view!
My nephew Trent ran the Crim in Flint yesterday! He did very well and we are all so proud of him!
Jeana, Dan & Matti: Congratulations On Finding Out About Having A Baby Girl!!
Our Harlie Girl...
Our Harlie Girl is good. Melissa just called and they're coming up this week and getting ready for a huge garage sale this week-end. She has so much stuff that she needs to have one! Harlie's seizures are still going on and it seems they are lasting longer now. Melissa handles it very well but I know it scares us both. Our Harlie is really growing into a nice young lady. She's so tall and beautiful. Having a child with a disability in our family has opened our eyes so much. If you've never been around one I hope that I can open your eyes as well in my newsletters. There is so much need for people in this world that will or can open their hearts and can handle being with them or around them. I have never been one that has stared or been mean to anyone that has a disability. When Melissa goes into a store it's amazing how much people will stare at them. If Harlie is having a bad day and is screaming it's twice as bad. Once a man asked Melissa if he could take our Harlie girl outside?! Can you imagine. It broke Melissa's heart. Melissa is alone with Harlie every day of the week and to be able to go out into the stores she has to take Harlie with her. Some people just doesn't understand that there are no babysitters, only school for these kids five hours a day. When you have a child that doesn't talk or can't defend themselves it's our place to make sure that they are safe at all times. Who can you really trust? So when you see a child with a disability and they look at you, please smile at them. If you can't handle saying hi to them just turn and walk away. A smile means so much to the child and to the parents of the child. I have talked with so many people that have a child with a disability. There are a lot of tears shed behind closed doors from the child and from the parents of these children. You can only take so many stares or harsh remarks from people that just doesn't understand. After a while you would think that we grow thick skin, we do to a certain point but everyone has a heart and sometimes it's broken by people that only live in their own little worlds that doesn't seem to care.
My Mason...
Is good! I talked with him this week and he just makes me laugh. I ask him if he is 10yrs old or what! He talks so grown up and yet he's only 3!! He dropped the phone while we were talking and I heard him so I waited and he got back on and laughed and said "Sorry Nana I dropped you..I mean I didn't drop you I dropped the phone"! He's always got something cute to say and I tell him he's so funny and we'll laugh. He'll be coming up next weekend but they aren't staying with us but at a cabin on the beach. He'll love that.
All of my families pictures are under Nana's Place, about 4 or 5 rows down on my on line catalog!
