This time around you need to place an order for these so that I can keep track of everyone! No emails excepted you may email me for questions! You may read about the Rules under this category at the top of my On line Catalog! You can view the list of people at the end of this newsletter!

It's Sunday so Grab your cup of coffee, tea or a soda and let's talk!!
Good Morning! Just another day in paradise!! I'm sitting at the shoppe right now since my phone lines at home are down, another couple of days and they will have them fixed. It was a nice ride to work and I took the long way around so that I could see Lake Huron with the sun beaming down on it. It's a beautiful morning and is suppose to be nice all day so after work I'll help Mike rake the yard and we'll play on the four wheeler for a while.
All is well in our world. My parents are doing well, Mitchell is home from the hospital and is walking around...couldn't ask for a better week!! We went and visited with my parents last week for an afternoon. Very nice visit as usual and hated to come home.
We've been busy here at the shoppe and on line. Thank you everyone that has placed orders or have come in, we appreciate all of your support! Our kits are still doing wonderful, fabrics are still coming in every day and our Block a Months are doing Fantastic! So glad that many of you love doing them with our shoppe!
Last Sunday I woke, wrote my newsletter which was very short..sorry!! But I was exhausted. I slept most of the day away then Mike asked what was for dinner so I got up, picked up the phone and ordered pizza delivery!! Haven't done that in quite a while and he was surprised since I think Sunday's are suppose to be a big dinner. He survived it!! The shop hop we had for our area was just wonderful! Everyone was in great spirits and our shoppe did very well. They couldn't believe all the kits we had ready and all they had to do is pick one up and it was done for them..no picking fabrics! People love our kits! The quilt that was on display "Down on The Farm" was of hand dyed felted wools and people seemed to enjoy it. I know many are not into wools which I love to work with and I was ready for criticism since I designed the quilt. But not one bad word was said which I was thankful for!! I do have kits in wools, cottons, flannels or a block a month available. Take a look and let me know what you think. As a child I always wanted to live on a farm and as I've grown and known quite a few farmers I still think about living on one...No..I'm not buying a farm!!
Please visit our website and view all the latest fabrics, books, patterns and kits we've available!
Thank you everyone that has come in or has ordered over the internet or have come into the shoppe..we do appreciate your business.

For you that like to hear about my grandkids Harlie Donielle and Mason..
Our Harlie Donielle
Our Harlie girl is doing fine. We had both Harlie and Mason on Friday night and What a Hoot!! You can see the love that they already have for one another. They look at each other and smile and Harlie was wonderful with having them both on my lap! She's not use to sharing me but she did well with it! We turned on music and danced around the living room, they both love mirrors so we went from bedroom to bedroom so they could see themselves and dance in front of them! It was such an enjoyable evening with them. Mason just holds you so tight and gives kisses freely and when Harlie would see Mason giving me kisses she'd open her mouth to give me one! Can you tell I love my grandkids!!Melissa and Rob came to pick them both up about 10pm and I was in bed by 10:01!!
I did add some new pictures this morning of them and my daughters!
My Mason!
One day this week I was sitting here working on my website and I heard something and looked around and there stood Mason with his baseball coat on, a pair of jeans, Nike tennis shoes and a pair of little round sunglasses on! It was so precious!! He just stood there like a little ole man and then smiled and ran to me! He is so gorgeous and personality plus! He's got that smirk on his face all the time. I told him "no" on Friday night and he looked at me, made a face and walked away from it! He hasn't a care in the world and just moves on to something else!
All of my families pictures are under Nana's Place, about 4 or 5 rows down on my on line catalog!

Some of you are new to this so let me tell you a little about it! By signing up for the first month you are agreeing to purchase all the additional kits which will be automatically billed to your credit card on a monthly basis for each bom or club. It takes us four-five days to put through all of the block a months and clubs that we have. It usually takes place the last of the month to the first week of the new month. If you've already started one of the programs and want to start another just let us know that you're already in another, which one and we'll add it to your card that is already made and we'll ship them together. It's a great way to make a quilt, one month at a time!! Can sign up anytime for any of these, it doesn't matter when we've started any of these, we will start you when you sign up! Remember, the books or patterns that need to be purchased separately are marked down just for those that sign up for that bom! Special Thanks This Week For Sending Us Your Recipes Goes To: Elaine Grman,
Novline, Dorothy Eggerss,
Anyone have a Recipe they'd like to share please email them to me! cottonpatch@core.com
Happy Apple Cake
4 cups diced fresh apples
2 cups sugar, pour over apples and mix
Let stand 30 minutes
2 eggs
1/2 cup oil
Beat the eggs and oil and add to apples
Add:
2 cups flour
2 tsp baking soda
2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup nuts
Grease 9 x 13 inch pan and pour in.
Bake 350* for 45 minutes!
Thank you Elaine Grman!!
Coffee Cake
4 cups Original Bisquick Mix
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup butter or margarine, melted
1/2 cup milk
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp almond extract
3 eggs
1 can 21oz cherry pie filling
Glaze:
1 cup powdered sugar
1 to 2 TB milk
Heat oven to 350*. Grease bottom and sides of a 15x10x1 inch pan or 2 9inch square pans with shortening or cooking spray. In large bowl stir all the coffee cake ingredients except pie filling; beat vigorously with spoon for 30 seconds. Spread two thirds of the batter or about 2/5 cups in 15x10x1 or 1.25 cups in the 9inch pan. Spread pie filling over batter, filling may not cover batter completely. Drop remaining batter by Tablespoons onto pie filling. Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until light brown. Meanwhile, in small bowl stir glaze ingredients until smooth and then enough to drizzle. Drizzle glaze over warm coffee cake. Serve warm or cool.
Fried Pickles
1 jar of hamburger dills.
Buttermilk
Flour
Hot Oil
Rinse the salt off pickles and dip in buttermilk and then in flour, back in the milk and flour again. Fry in hot oil until they turn a bit brown.
Some people also use an egg but I like them best with just the flour and milk!
Thank you Noveline! I've had these and they are wonderful!!
Blarney Stones
Have ready a dish of salted peanuts without the skins that you have put through a nut chopper.
Use any pound cake recipe, and bake in a regular cake pan. When cool, cut in regular cake size pieces, then frost on all four sides with powdered sugar frosting, and roll in the peanuts. Also, frost the ends and press them into the peanuts, so the cake has frosting and peanuts on all sides. Let set until frosting has dried enough to handle, and store in container until served.
This is my mom's recipe that I have never heard of anyone else making! They're are kind of messy to make but were her special treat for company!
Thank you Dorothy Eggerss!

COMMENTS MADE IN THE YEAR 1955...THAT'S ONLY 53 YEARS AGO!!
*I'll tell you one thing, if things keep going the way they are, it's going to be impossible to buy a weeks groceries for $20.00
*Have you seen the new cars coming out next year? It won't be long before $2,000. will only buy a used one!
*If cigarettes keep going up in price, I'm going to quit! A quarter a pack is ridiculous!
*Did you hear the post office is thinking about charging a dime just to mail a letter?
*If they raise the minimum wage to $1.00, nobody will be able to hire outside help at the store! Ha!!
*When I first started driving, who would have thought gas would someday cost 29 cents a gallon! Guess we'd be better off leaving the car in the garage!
*Kids today are impossible! Those duck tail hair cuts make it impossible to stay groomed. Next thing you know boys will be wearing there hair as long as the girls!!
*Did you see where some baseball player just signed a contract for $75,000. a year just to play ball? It wouldn't surprise me if someday they'll be making more than the president!!
*I read the other day where some scientist thinks it's possible to put a man on the moon by the end of the century! They even have some fellows they call astronauts preparing for it down in Texas!
*I'm afraid to send my kids to the movies anymore! Ever since they let Clark Gable get by with saying Damn in Gone with the Wind, it seems every new movie has either hell or damn in it!
*I never thought I'd see the day all our kitchen appliances would be electric! They are even making electric typewriters! (I still have my grandmothers!)
*It's too bad things are so tough nowadays! I see where a few married women are having to work to make ends meet!
*There is no since going to another town anymore to spend the night, motel or hotels are now charging $15.00 a night.
*No one can afford to be sick anymore! At $35.00 a day in the hospital is too rich for my blood!
*If they think I'll pay 50 cents for a haircut, forget it!
